Places to go in Tenby
Castle Hill Memorial – This is a memorial to Prince Albert, Queen Victoria’s consort. This was introduced to Tenby in the Victorian era and is located near the Victorian bandstand. The bandstand is used throughout the whole of summer for wonderful musical performances.
The lifeboat station – this was built in the year of 1852 and has seen many vessels and many crews since it opened its doors. The lifeboat, Sir Galahad, has over 150 years if history attached to it and has made over 200 successful rescues out at sea. You can find the station located in between the Harbour and Castle Hill and is open through the summer months to the public all week apart from Sunday.
The Tudor Merchants House – This house was built during the 15th Century and is now still standing and fitted with all the furnishings and the decorations of the Tudor era. The house shows the Tudor life of a family throughout that period and is run by the National Trust. You can find this house located between the Harbour and Tudor Square on Quay Hill.
Art Gallery and Tenby Museum – Since Tenby’s history is so long and varied it needs a great place to house it all; you can find the museum with great artefacts from history located on Castle Hill.
Tenby is a wonderful place to go on holiday with all the family. There are tons of things to do in Tenby that will delight and thrill the whole family. With so much to do for everyone there will never be a dull moment! You can see the castle walls that are still standing now, or you can wander around the town and take in the sights.
